WASHINGTON, D.C. – U.S. Senator Debbie Stabenow (D-MI) released the following statement on the agreement reached between Ford Motor Company, Honda Motor Company, Volkswagen, BMW, and the State of California on future emissions and fuel economy standards:

“I applaud these four auto companies for reaching an agreement that is good for our workers, manufacturers, and suppliers. This agreement will help reduce carbon emissions, promote innovation, and benefit consumers. The Trump Administration should follow this lead and put forward one strong national standard supported by all states and stakeholders. Michigan has always made the best cars in the world and today’s announcement will help workers continue to do that.”
