Stabenow, Peters Announce Over $725,000 Federal Grant for Oakland County International Airport

DETROIT, MI – U.S. Senators Debbie Stabenow (MI) and Gary Peters (MI) today announced that the Oakland County International Airport will receive a $725,176 federal grant from the U.S. Department of Transportation (DOT). The funding was awarded through the Michigan State Block Grant Program, and will help the airport replace an aircraft rescue and fire fighting vehicle to ensure it continues to meet critical safety requirements.

 

 “Having reliable and safe air service is crucial for tourism, commerce, and economic development,” said Senator Stabenow. “This grant is an important investment in the safety of travelers at Oakland County International Airport.”
