Stabenow, Levin announce $7.2 million grant for Gerald R. Ford International AirportWednesday, September 10, 2014
Gerald R. Ford International Airport will receive more than $7.2 million from the U.S. Department of Transportation to help pay for construction of a deicing containment facility, Michigan Senators Debbie Stabenow and Carl Levin announced today.
"Today's announcement is great news for the Gerald R. Ford International Airport and the community," said Stabenow. "This support will help the airport preserve local water quality by making sure that deicing fluid doesn't pollute the area's water system."
"Gerald R. Ford International Airport provides a vital transportation link to West Michigan," said Levin. "This federal grant will help ensure that the airport can continue to invest in its infrastructure and serve the travelers and businesses that depend on reliable air transportation."
The grant from the U.S. Department of Transportation totals $7,239,767.
