Senator Stabenow's Statement on President Trump’s Executive Order on Immigration

WASHINGTON, D.C. - U.S. Senator Debbie Stabenow (D-MI) released the following statement on President Trump's Executive Order on immigration:

"Our country faces real and serious threats from terrorism.  Not only does the President's Executive Order do nothing to address these threats and keep us safer, it is ruining America’s reputation in the world, undermining our relationships with our most critical allies, and most heart-breakingly, destroying the lives of good and law-abiding people.  In Michigan, those being hurt are our friends, our teachers, our family members, our coworkers, our doctors and our neighbors. You can feel the devastating impact across Michigan - in our homes, businesses and universities. This is a sad time for our country and I stand with Muslim Americans and so many other Michigan citizens against this failed Executive Order and unconscionable bigotry."
