Stabenow Statement on Arrest of Owners, Employees Involved with Distributing Tainted Steroids

Wednesday, December 17, 2014

U.S. Senator Debbie Stabenow today issued the following statement on the arrest of two co-founders and 12 former employees of the New England Compounding Center (NECC) in Framingham, Massachusetts. In 2012, NECC was responsible for distributing contaminated steroids that resulted in more Michigan deaths than any other state.

"Hundreds of people in Michigan got sick and 19 people tragically died because of the negligence of this company. It is critical that bad actors are held accountable so families can continue to trust that when they get treated for an injury or illness, they will be safe."
