Senator Stabenow to Join President Obama in Flint

Wednesday, May 04, 2016

U.S. Senator Debbie Stabenow (D-MI) issued the following statement prior to joining President Obama for his visit to Flint, Michigan, where he will meet with families affected by the ongoing water crisis:

“I am very pleased that President Obama has made such a commitment to the families of Flint.  He has worked so closely with me and our Michigan delegation to bring resources and relief to families in Flint who continue to be affected by the water crisis.  I am grateful for the Administration’s work to expand healthcare to all children up to the age of 21 in the city of Flint and to support nutrition programs that will help offset the effects of lead.  In the Senate, we recently moved forward with a bipartisan agreement to get urgently-needed help to the families in Flint.  It is going to take a lot of hard work, but I’m not going to stop until we get the job done.”
