Senator Stabenow Celebrates Manufacturing Day with Local Students at Detroit Manufacturing Systems
Friday, October 02, 2015In celebration of Manufacturing Day, U.S. Senator Debbie Stabenow delivered remarks at Detroit Manufacturing Systems, which opened its doors to hundreds of students, parents and educators on Friday, October 2. School groups had the opportunity to tour the plant and learn about career opportunities in manufacturing.
Senator Stabenow recently introduced the New Skills for New Jobs Act to help train workers for new high-skilled jobs. The legislation builds on successful efforts in Michigan that are helping community colleges partner with local businesses to provide training to workers for new high-skilled jobs, making sure the U.S. remains competitive in a global economy.
