Support for Allen Park Fire Department Announced
Michigan Senators Debbie Stabenow and Carl Levin today announced federal funding that will help the City of Allen Park hire firefighters to protect the city and surrounding communities.
The Federal Emergency Management Agency grant will help Allen Park hire six firefighters.
"Our firefighters provide critical, courageous service to communities across Michigan," said Senator Stabenow. "This grant provides the resources they need to perform their duties safely and protect the public."
"This critical federal assistance will help ensure that residents of Allen Park and surrounding communities continue to receive the fire protection they need and deserve," Senator Levin said.
The $1.28 million grant comes from FEMA's Staffing for Adequate Fire & Emergency Response, or SAFER, program. The program helps local communities maintain adequate protection from fire and fire-related hazards.
