Support for Alba Fire Department Announced
U.S. Senators Debbie Stabenow and Carl Levin today announced hiring and retention support for the Alba Fire Department. The grant comes through the U.S. Department of Homeland Security's Assistance to Firefighters Grant Program.
Senator Stabenow said, "Our firefighters provide critical, courageous service to communities across Michigan. This grant provides the resources they need to perform their duties safely and protect the public."
Senator Levin said, "Our firefighters protect our communities from danger, and they deserve our full support. This funding will help them to carry out their life-saving responsibilities."
The Alba Fire Department will receive $125,640.
The Assistance to Firefighters Grant Program - Staffing for Adequate Fire and Emergency Response (SAFER) program is intended to support the hiring of firefighters and the recruitment and retention of volunteer firefighters.
