Stabenow, Levin Announce Support for Ionia Department of Public Safety
Senators Debbie Stabenow and Carl Levin today announced support for the Ionia Department of Public Safety. The grants come through the U.S. Department of Homeland Security Assistance to Firefighters Grant Program. The grants will be used to help address specific equipment, training, staffing, and other EMS related needs.
Senator Stabenow said, "Our firefighters provide invaluable, courageous service to communities across Michigan. They deserve the best training and equipment to perform their duties safely."
Senator Levin said, "Our firefighters protect our communities from danger, and they deserve our full support. This funding will help them to carry out their life-saving responsibilities."

The Ionia Department of Public Safety will receive $136,894 for operations and safety needs.
