Stabenow, Levin Announce Support for Cutlerville to Hire Firefighters
U.S. Senators Debbie Stabenow and Carl Levin today announced hiring and retention support for the Cutlerville Fire Department. The grant comes through the U.S. Department of Homeland Security's Assistance to Firefighters Grant Program.
Senator Stabenow said, "Our firefighters help to keep our communities safe, and I am so glad that with this grant, the Cutlerville Fire Department will be able to hire and retain more firefighters. They deserve the best resources available to protect Michigan families."
Senator Levin said, "The men and women who protect our communities from danger deserve our full support, and these grants will help them carry out their life-saving responsibilities."
The Cutlerville Fire Department will receive $396,336 which will be used for hiring, recruitment, and retention.
The Assistance to Firefighters Grant Program - Staffing for Adequate Fire and Emergency Response (SAFER) program is intended to support the hiring of firefighters and the recruitment and retention of volunteer firefighters.
