Stabenow, Levin Announce Support for Adrian Fire Department
U.S. Senators Debbie Stabenow and Carl Levin today announced hiring and retention support for the City of Adrian Fire Department. The grant comes through the U.S. Department of Homeland Security's Assistance to Firefighters Grant Program.
Senator Stabenow said, "Our firefighters help to keep our communities safe, and I am so glad that with this grant, the Adrian Fire Department will be able to hire more heroes. They deserve the best resources available to protect Michigan families."
Senator Levin said, "The people who risk so much to help protect us from harm deserve our full support, and I'm glad this grant will provide important funding to the Adrian Fire Department."
The Adrian Fire Department will receive $688,982 which will be used for hiring, recruitment, and retention.
The Assistance to Firefighters Grant Program - Staffing for Adequate Fire and Emergency Response (SAFER) program is intended to support the hiring of firefighters and the recruitment and retention of volunteer firefighters.
